Message From The Principal

Dear Elmhurst Families,

Welcome!

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxed, recharged and ready to start a new school year. I am delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and I look forward to working with you and your student.

We are gearing up for an incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff are planning and preparing for your student. Our enthusiastic office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility. And, our much-appreciated PTA is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs. We are a caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and promoting high-level learning.

We know a strong partnership will make a great difference in your student’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our student’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your student’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

  •   Attends school daily- arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience

  •   Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills

  •   Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life

  •   Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject

  •   Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school

New Staff

We are proud to announce the addition of the following staff:

Kristina Thorson will be joining Elmhurst as a third-grade teacher.  Kristina was a third-grade teacher in the Snoqualmie Valley School District and she was praised her collaboration with colleagues, ability to form relationships with students, and academic / behavior growth that her students made over the school year.

Thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. Your commitment to insuring that Elmhurst remains a celebrated and successful school is awe-inspiring. I eagerly look forward to greeting students and families again. It is an honor to serve as your principal.  Please stop by and say hello. Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all student.

Warmest Regards,
