Message From The Principal

Dear Elmhurst Families,

We hope you are finding ways to take care of yourselves and your loved ones during these extraordinary times. We understand that these times are difficult and the hardship this school closure is causing for families is extreme.

Washington State Governor, Jay Inslee, issued an order to close all school districts in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties from Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 24. This was done to reduce social contact in school settings to minimize the transmission rates of COVID-19.

There are many unknowns about what the next six weeks will entail. Our administrative team and staff will be working with our district to create learning opportunities for students at home and to create the ability for students to receive breakfast and lunch in a remote location model. There will be additional information forthcoming as we learn more.

Please continue to check the district website ( for the most up to date information. Additionally, please listen for Elmhurst auto dialers with updated information, or call our main office with questions at 253-298-3500.

There are many unknowns right now, but together we hope to create stability for the students and families we serve in these difficult times, even if from afar.

Together we have faced adversities and we will continue to SOAR through this trying time and long after. The Elmhurst community is strong. Our hearts are with you and our thoughts are with our students daily.

With compassion and care,

Mr. Mondragon, Ms. Madlena, and the Elmhurst Staff

Steven Mondragon
